Today would have been the Labouré Center’s biggest fundraiser of the year. Here’s what I would have said…. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tYa585oaH2o&feature=youtu.be I hope you, your family, and all those you love are healthy and safe in this unprecedented time. I am writing to inform you that, given the public health emergency under which we are all operating, the Labouré Center’s Spring Reception originally scheduled April 30, will now be postponed until the fall. Our new date is Thursday, September 17, 2020. In the wake of this crisis, the Labouré Center staff have responded quickly, and without hesitation, in order to continue to help those in need. As you already know, our staff are numbered among those “essential services” who are still in the field, still operational, and continue to serve. I always knew we had a good team here at the Labouré. But, it wasn’t until now that I realized that we have the best team. I am so proud of them. I know you would be too. How This Impacts Us The Labouré Center Spring Reception has traditionally been our largest event of the year, and represents 35% of our annual revenue. To put that into more human terms, the revenue from this event allows us to serve 1,150 out of the 3,500 people we help every year. Make no mistake, this public health crisis will be one of two things for the Labouré Center: it will either be our hour of need, or it will be our finest hour. Day by day, supporters like you are proving it to be the latter. What You Can Do to Help As you surely understand, our need to alter event plans does not change the needs of those we serve. If anything, the need has grown. Between now and September, we will continue our efforts to raise funds for our programs and services. If you can, please donate, sponsor our event, or buy your tickets at ccab.org/Laboure-Spring-Reception. Remember that hope does not come from elsewhere. It can only come from us. It can only come from each other. If ever we needed your help, now is the time. Thank you for all of your kindness, your friendship, and your support. Sincerely, Jacob Bombard Director | Labouré Center |
