BOSTON NEWSPAPER PRINTING PRESSMEN’S UNION LOCAL 3 ENDORSES KENNEDY FOR SENATE

WATERTOWN, MA
–– Today, the Boston Newspaper Printing Pressmen’s Union Local 3 unanimously voted to endorse Joe Kennedy III for US Senate. The Boston Pressman’s Union is affiliated with the Graphic Communications Conference of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters and represents over 600 newspaper, commercial, specialty, and apprentice pressmen and paper handlers across Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire.

Boston Newspaper Printing Pressmen’s Union Local 3 announced their endorsement today in a letter from President Stephen Sullivan. In the letter, Sullivan highlighted the Congressman’s continued support of middle-class workers and his ongoing fight for fair wages and pensions.
“With middle-class jobs in manufacturing in peril, the working families of Local 3 know that it takes fighters in the United States Senate to protect all that we have achieved in the Labor Movement. Now more than ever, we need Joe Kennedy’s proven leadership and track record of support on important issues from wage equality to pension protection,” wrote Local 3 President Stephen Sullivan. “The men and women of Local 3 unanimously approved Kennedy’s endorsement because we know that his continued leadership is needed to protect the middle class and push back against corporate special interests.”
“Press workers and paper handlers across the state have faced threats of layoffs, consolidation, and outsourcing for years –– threats that have only increased with the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Congressman Joe Kennedy III. “With those threats hovering over the sacrifices you’ve made during this pandemic, you deserve a Senator that will fight for you. You need leadership that will prioritize union workers and their families, build off your legacy of union strength, and work to increase wages and protect benefits. I am proud to have your endorsement and I promise to continue my fight to protect union jobs and middle-class workers.”
