Pro Trump Group 2 Says: “Keep West Roxbury Great”

Independent and Republican voters in West Roxbury who ask for a Republican ballot have a chance to support President Donald Trump in the Massachusetts March 3, 2020 Primary Election.  Besides pulling the lever for the President who has made America great again and now wants to keep it great, 29 of our neighbors and friends have formed the Pro Trump Group 2. They seek to energize the Republican Ward Committee with the spirit and zest of a Trump Rally.  A quick glance at the Group 2 slate (see page 3) reveals a virtual “Who’s Who” of West Roxbury.

“We have Boston police, union members, veterans, parents, business owners, CCD teachers, youth sports coaches, and homemakers.  You’ll bump into our slate members at Roche Bros, in line at Anna’s Handcut or Dunkin Donuts, walking into St. Theresa’s or Holy Name Church or pressed up against the glass at the rink. Bottomline we are West Roxbury/Parkway people. We want to be a vigorous organization that gives back charitably not just politically. Group 2 is good for you! Please check the boxes next to each of our 29 names,” emphasized Joe Abasciano.

Tim Sullivan, another organizer of Group 2 and a West Roxbury dad added, “A vibrant Group 2 Republican Ward Committee can help nurture both Republican and Democratic candidates that are really interested in putting West Roxbury first.”

Margaret ‘Peggy’ Rose, a lifelong West Roxbury resident runs a boutique-style public relations firm in Boston and  has deep roots in this community. She is an active member of the YMCA and a member of the Ward 20 Committee who also helped organize Group 2. She is the daughter of the late Margaret and Red Rose.  Her Dad was a US Marine World War II veteran who was awarded 2 Purple Hearts and went onto a 3-decade career as a Boston Firefighter. Her Mom was a Boston Public School Teacher. “I’m delighted to be part of this diverse and hard-working group of men and women. We are committed to serving our community through our positive actions and strong leadership . Our Group 2 slate encompasses the faces and hearts of the real people of West Roxbury. We have an 18-year-old High School student, we have stay-at-home Moms, working Moms and Grandmothers. Our oldest member is 91-year-old Ted Stober, a life-long proud Republican from Sanborn Avenue. Ted was born in the  home he still lives in today along with his wife Kash and daughter Susan. Kash and Susan Stober are also on our Group 2 slate. Ted is so loved in West Roxbury that when he celebrated his 90th Birthday, the Elks Hall could barely fit in all his adoring family and friends. Group 2 will be steadfast and unwavering in our commitment to the residents of West Roxbury and we humbly ask you for your vote,” stated Peggy Rose.

Lou Murray, who is presently a member of the Ward 20 Committee helped to organize Group 2 is excited by the change in attitude. Murray stressed, “After the bike lane cram down on Centre Street it became clear that we needed a Ward Committee that was proactive and focused on West Roxbury. The Group 2 committee reflects the values of this hard-working, faith-filled neighborhood. Our slate is Pro Trump, Pro West Roxbury, Pro Police, Pro Life, Pro Veteran and Pro Second Amendment. We are against Sanctuary City, Sanctuary State Legislation, and driver’s licenses for illegal aliens. We are against Bike Lanes on Centre Street. We are against the proposed gasoline tax that would add 17 to 34 cents to every gallon of gas sold in Massachusetts. We are tired of Republican leadership that will only speak about the President’s successes in muted and hushed tones.”

Asked why independent unregistered voters should pull a Republican ballot for Group 2 in Ward 20, Murray declared, “We have the lowest unemployment rate in 50 years.  We have the lowest Black and Hispanic unemployment rate in history. We have the lowest female unemployment rate in the last 71 years. Wages for low-income workers have risen 16% over 3 years. These are facts all Americans should be celebrating.  The Trump economy really is a Blue-Collar Boom and the Republican Party has become the party of the American working class.”
