KENNEDY FOR MA LAUNCHES “JOE I KNOW” DIGITAL CAMPAIGN

“Joe I Know” will feature a series of videos highlighting Joe’s personal connections with residents and local leaders across the state

Watertown, MA — On Thursday, Kennedy for Massachusetts launched the first in a series of videos highlighting personal relationships that Congressman Joe Kennedy III has built with residents and local leaders across Massachusetts. The digital video campaign, “Joe I Know,” will include personal testimony from people Joe has worked with to pass legislation, fight with on an issue, or met on the campaign trail.

The first video features Mimi Lemay, a Marblehead mother who has been a fierce advocate for LGBTQIA+ rights in Massachusetts. Mimi’s son Jacob transitioned when he was four years old, and Joe first sat with them to discuss their activism and experience in 2015. Together, they fought for state passage of transgender anti-discrimination protections in 2016 and to uphold those laws in 2018 in the historic ‘Yes on 3’ campaign, making Massachusetts the first state in United States history to successfully defend basic LGBTQIA+ protections at the ballot box.

Kennedy currently serves as Chair of the Congressional Transgender Equality Task Force, where he has led efforts to fight back against the Trump Administration’s systemic disenfranchisement of LGBTQIA+ Americans.
